日本NCR株式会社（本社：東京都中央区、代表取締役社長：マイケル･J・バリエ、以下日本NCR）は本日より、百貨店システム資産の共有化、業務の共通化、サービス利用の共同化を実現するクラウドサービスを提供いたします。その第一弾として、山形県の老舗百貨店 株式会社大沼での本サービスの採用が決定し、2012年秋に稼動予定です。
本クラウドサービスは、日本NCRが長年携わった百貨店業務への実績とシステム構築実績を活かして、サービスの導入から利用開始後の運用管理、運用支援まで一括して請け負います。利用いただくシステムは百貨店業務に必要な基本機能を揃えており、利用システム範囲は各社の要件に合わせて選択可能です。
従来百貨店では、ハードウェア・ソフトウェアへ個別に投資し、システムも自社運用としていましたが、初期投資に莫大な費用を要したり、運用のために過大な負荷がかかっていました。自社でシステムを設計・構築せずにクラウドサービスとして必要な部分を利用することで、初期投資の大幅な負担軽減ができます。また、ランニング費用の経費化と平準化が行え、総IT費用も削減することが可能となります。さらに本サービスを利用することで、自社システムの管理・運用業務から解放され、本業に専念できます。
内部統制及び個人情報保護の観点から、クラウドサービス環境でお預かりするデータや情報のセキュリティ対策も強化しています。サーバー、ディスク、ネットワーク上のデータを保護するため、最新のセキュリティ技術で対応します。また、今日の百貨店業務に求められる高い可用性を実現するシステムでサービスをご提供します。
