NCRコーポレーションは、ガートナー社の調査による2012年流通業界向け製品サポートにおいて、世界のマーケットシェアのトップ企業にランクされたことを発表しました。ガートナー社はIT業界専門の調査会社で、このランキングは製品サポートの売上に基づいており、本年3月29日に発表されたものです。

また、ガートナー社はNCRが同時期に、金融サービス製品サポートの売上において世界で第3位、全てのマーケットを通じたハードウェア保守およびサポートの売上において、世界で第9位にランクされたと発表しました。
このようにNCRが高い位置にランクされるのは、NCR予防保守を含むサービスの革新に会社として継続して投資を続けていることが反映されたと考えています。NCR予防保守サービスは、障害を監視して発生後に対処する提案とは異なり、ATMやセルフレジといった機器の障害を、発生する前に予見することで利用者に影響を与える前に技術者を派遣することができます。またNCRはトータル・プレマイズ・サポート・プロバイダーとして、顧客のシステムの可用性を拡大し、ITの複雑さを軽減してサポート機能を統合することを支援しています。
