NCRコーポレーション（NYSE：NCR）は、POSデータ保護ソリューションNCR DataGuardを発表しました。当ソリューションは、インテル社のData Protection Technology (DPT) と組み合わせて導入することでPOSの取引データ、クレジットデータなどの機密情報をPOSのOSや搭載されているアプリケーションにとらわれず保護することが可能になります。
NCR DataGuardと インテルDPTは、信頼性のあるハードウェア構成によってサポートされるセキュリティの高いトンネル（仮想回線）を用いて、機密情報をOSとCPUから論理的にも物理的にも切り離す方法で処理します。当テクノロジーにより、取引が開始された瞬間に暗号化されたデータを小売企業や銀行のサーバーネットワークへ安全に送信することができます。
NCRのリテール部門CTO兼Head of Product Managementのエリ・ロズナー（Eli Rosner）は次のように述べています。「ここ数年、前例のない数のセキュリティ侵害が発生し、追加の対策が必須となって来ています。このような侵害は今後も続くと予測され、こういった悪意ある攻撃の増加に対して弊社は全カテゴリーのPOSの機密情報を保護すべく積極的に取り組んでいます。」
NCR DataGuardソフトウェアソリューションは2015年後半にリリースされる予定です。小売企業はNCR DataGuardに対応した最新のPOSハードウェアプラットフォームをインテルDPTテクノロジーと組み合わせることで今後おこりうる新たなセキュリティ侵害に備えることができます。インテルDPTテクノロジーはNCRの最新のPOSであるRealPOS XR7をはじめ、既に全世界で10万台以上の導入実績をもつNCR RealPOSシリーズへの搭載が予定されております。
NCRのVice President, Strategic Developmentのクリス・リーバ（Chris Lybeer）は「NCRのDataGuardは、NFC支払ソリューションの成長に伴い急増し始めた固有のセキュリティ機能とも連動するように設計されています。これらの決済ソリューションはカード情報を保持しないことが重要で、何重ものセキュリティポリシーによって保護されていますが、この中にもNCR DataGuardによって保護されるべき個人情報が含まれています。」と述べています。
NCR DataGuardは、クラウドベースのエンタープライズ・ツールにより管理され、ユーザーによる環境設定、セキュリティポリシー設定、アラートの受信、詳細レポートの作成も行うことが可能です。
