ゼビオホールディングス株式会社（本社：福島県郡山市、代表取締役社長：諸橋 友良、以下：ゼビオホールディングス）は、みずほフィナンシャルグループの一員であるユーシーカード株式会社（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長：北嶋 信顕、以下：UCカード）及び、日本NCR株式会社（本社：東京都中央区、代表取締役社長：内藤 眞、以下：日本NCR）と提携し、2016年7月26日より、IC対応のPOS（販売時点情報管理）端末の設置を順次開始いたします。
日本ではPOS端末のIC対応は諸外国と比較し遅れており、クレジット取引セキュリティ対策協議会は2020年に向け、POS端末のIC対応を推進しています。IC対応した場合、万が一POS端末からカード情報が窃取されたとしても、その情報からICカードを偽造することは非常に困難であり、本対応は、カード決済の安全性を高める最も有力な方法とされています。
かかる環境下、ゼビオホールディングスは、訪日外国人を含むお客様に、より安全・安心にショッピングを楽しんでいただくため、ゼビオ及びヴィクトリア全店へIC対応のPOS端末を2016年7月より設置することといたしました。
更に、同じくゼビオグループのゼビオカードは、2016年4月11日よりICカードの発行を開始しており、ゼビオグループは様々な切り口からクレジットカード決済におけるセキュリティ向上に貢献しています。
UCカードは、クレジットカード決済環境の高いセキュリティレベルを確保し、訪日外国人にも快適にクレジットカードをご使用いただけるよう努め、キャッシュレス化を推進することでお客様の利便性向上を目指してまいります。
日本NCRは、日本NCRは、クレジットカード情報保護のための国際的なセキュリティ基準であるPA-DSSの準拠取得を早期から進めるなど、消費者保護を重視した製品開発に積極的に取り組んでいます。消費者の皆様に安心してお買いものいただけるよう、利便性の向上とともに情報保護の面でも最適なソリューションを提供してまいります。

商品の販売時に商品情報を読み取り集計することで、在庫や売れ行き傾向等の効率的な情報収集・管理を可能とするシステム。POSの機能が組み込まれた端末をPOS端末と呼んでいます。その利便性から日本国内に広く普及しており、POS端末を通じたクレジットカード決済は、国内クレジットカード売上全体の約7～8割を占めています。
