NCR recognized for its global leadership development program

Leader in consumer transaction technologies wins prestigious 2014 Leadership 500 Excellence Award

DULUTH, Ga., May 7, 2014 — NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, has been recognized for its “Leading for Success” global leadership development program as part of the 2014 Leadership 500 Excellence Awards. This year’s award recipients were recently unveiled by HR.com and Leadership Excellence at the Global Leadership Excellence Forum.

"Leadership is an art that requires constant practice and focus to master,” said Debbie McGrath, CEO of HR.com. "The award winners from the 2014 Leadership 500 Excellence Awards program are the top firms with outstanding leadership programs from over 1,250 nominated companies. To be in the top 10 percent of any category is truly spectacular, and it's a true demonstration of the hard work and effort by these great companies.”

A commitment to investing in training and development for leaders and employees is a key tenet in NCR’s transformation into a hardware-enabled, software-driven business. Today, NCR enables more than 485 million transactions daily across retail, financial, travel, hospitality, telecom and technology, and small business.

Since launching the four and one-half day leadership development experience, “Leading for Success,” in 2012, more than 800 NCR leaders from across the globe have completed the customized training. Led by members of the Human Resources and executive teams, leaders focus on four critical areas: developing leadership skills, improving coaching skills, gaining a greater understanding of NCR’s business strategy and understanding how employees help to drive customer success.

“Leadership is a cornerstone of any successful company,” said NCR Chairman and CEO Bill Nuti. “By bringing in the best talent and giving managers the tools and business knowledge to inspire, motivate and lead our 29,000 employees on our journey of reinvention, we build the foundation for continued success for NCR and our customers.”
